Hamilton Winterfest 2022

February 17 – March 6

** Winterfest CLOSED Sunday March 6th due to high winds **

Due to thunderstorms & high winds in the forecast, we unfortunately have to close the Winterfest Hub for our final day, Sunday, March 6. In a year when so much was thrown at us– first a big delay due to Covid, then a snow storm and high winds delaying our opening day, it’s only fitting that the three incredible weeks of the Winterfest Hub should be bookended with an unusual winter thunderstorm!

We thank everyone who attended for their support, we hope you enjoyed it, and we’ll see you again next year!  In the meantime, enjoy the last official day of Hamilton Winterfest – the Art Gallery of Hamilton has free admission as part of their Winterfest Weekend with so much to see and do inside!

This FREE outdoor event takes place Auchmar, a city-owned heritage site on the Hamilton Mountain (88 Fennel Ave. W).  From February 17th  to March 6th, the Hub will feature live theatre, dance, over 30 musical acts, massive inflatable sculptures, a new mural celebrating the Black community, geodesic market domes and much more!

Community Events

Since 1976, community groups across the city have brought Winterfest to life through dozens of events that pop-up in neighbourhood parks, recreation centres and community hubs. They can be anything from a social event sharing hot chocolate in the park, to outdoor light spectacles created by artists and citizen collectives looking to bring a sense of sparkle to the darkness of February nights.  Visit the Community Events page to learn more.

COVID-19

All Hamilton Winterfest events will be complying with the COVID-19 restrictions set by the City of Hamilton and Province of Ontario. At present this means all presenters, artists, volunteers and guests must be fully vaccinated. We encourage those who can get fully vaccinated to do so to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Many thanks to all of our funders, sponsors, partners and volunteers for coming back full-force with us this year to bring you what we think will be the best Hamilton Winterfest ever!
